“Of what? Sir.” Tari glared.

Fela skidded to a halt and then traded glances with Remi. “Onyeka will stand in for you while you’re on maternity leave.”

She swung her head from left to right. “No, sir. I’m sorry.”

“No? No? You’ve very uppity, Ms. Johnson.”

Uppity? Who says that these days? She took in a deep breath and said, “I’ve made a plan. For those three months, I’ll be leaving my General Sales Manager in charge but I’ll be reachable via phone, email and available for video-conferences.”

Fela flung his arms in the air.

Remi glanced down at her. “Why not Onyeka as he suggested?”

“Because sir, I prefer to work with people I trust. This is my station, sir, and you hired me to do this job because you knew I could do it very well. Please let me do this my way, sir.”
